We are so honored to be recognized at Mississippi Main Street Association Annual Awards Ceremony in Jackson on Thursday, June 20, 2024, for achieving National Main Street America Accreditation, and we received an award for the Best Planning Project in the State for Hiram Revels Plaza at the MLK Triangle.
In addition for the award, DNA was among the 31 local MMSA programs that were presented with the “Main Street Circle of Excellence.” This medal is awarded in recognition for “notable efforts in running efficient local programs and excelling with all MMSA requirements of a designated Main Street program.”
We were also honored to have as our guests Mayor Dan Gibson, Alderwoman Valencia Hall, State Representative Robert Johnson, Darrell White, Rev and Ms. Birdon Mitchell, granddaughter Bailee; and five Trustees from Zion Chapel AME Church, including Sidney Ransom, Tony Fields, LaVera Allen, and Carlee Reed.
Also present were DNA board members Jo Ann Brumfield, Chesney Doyle, Norma West, and DNA downtown director Kevin Miers.
Great things are happening in our Mississippi communities!
