About Junkin’ On The River

This much anticipated, twice-a-year event has provided a vital boost to local economies since 2021.

Junkin’ On The River was founded by Danielle Nelson, who started it all in March 2021 with the idea to bring more business to the small businesses and shops in the Natchez/Vidalia area. The year before with the pandemic could have shut everyone down. So with a mission to keep open shop doors and a love of junkin, Nelson began to plan. Instead of a “market for everyone to go to,” she crafted an event based on a “poker run” or “pub crawl” concept to highlight everyone’s locations.

Four years and six events later, Junkin’ On The River has grown from an idea to a epic shopping event that attracts thousands to Natchez and Vidalia, bringing in revevue to our local economies from 7+ states.

This year, Nelson and the Junkin Team have partnered up with the Downtown Natchez Alliance to help keep the event booming as it continues to grow.
